Na Áustria, estamos contando os dias para o destaque esportivo da temporada de inverno, o Campeonato Mundial de Esqui Alpino da FIS Saalbach 2025. Mal podemos esperar para ver quem levará as medalhas para casa, mas estamos igualmente animados para mostrar nossas pistas para o mundo.
Sabendo que muitos de vocês amam esquiar tanto quanto torcer pelas estrelas, estamos felizes em compartilhar que as condições atuais de neve nos Alpes austríacos são excelentes. O Baile da Ópera de Viena acontece pela 67ª vez em 27 de fevereiro. O baile tradicional atrai fãs de valsa, políticos e celebridades do mundo todo ano. Embora todos os lugares para o evento real já tenham sido comprados há muito tempo, você ainda pode conseguir ingressos em pé para o ensaio geral no dia do baile (vestir-se a caráter é opcional)!

We hope you had a great start into the new year and are looking forward to new travel adventures in the coming months!
In Austria, we are counting down the days to the sports highlight of the winter season, the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships Saalbach 2025. We can’t wait to see who will take home the medals – but we’re equally excited to show off our pistes to the world.
Knowing that many of you love skiing just as much as cheering on the stars, we’re happy to share that the current snow conditions in the Austrian Alps are excellent. Scroll down to see what resorts are open well until spring – and give our Facebook page a follow if you’d like regular updaters straight from the pistes. Can’t get enough of skiing? A winter holiday later in the season comes with lots of benefits, including extra sunshine hours – and money saving deals. Resorts such as SkiWelt and
St. Johann in Tirol welcome early risers from 7:30 AM on selected days in February and March, while lifts in Zillertal or Zell am See – Kaprun operate well until after Easter. Families travelling with kids in tow over the Easter break can benefit from special deals, including in St. Johann in Salzburg, and Altenmarkt-Zauchensee (part of Ski Amadé).

Missing that alpine feeling? We’ve just launched a new video podcast series called “Lift is Life” that will bring you straight back to the summit. Literally! In six episodes, Austrian lifty Markus meets interesting people that are all in some way connected to the mountains through their jobs, including a volunteer mountain rescuer, two goat farmers and Austria’s youngest ski instructor. February Highlights in Austria
Waltz & glamour at the world-famous Vienna Opera Ball
The Viennese Opera Ball takes place for the 67th time on 27 February. The traditional ball attracts waltz fans, politicians and celebrities from all over the world every year. While all spots for the actual event have long been snapped up, you can still get your hands on standing tickets for the dress rehearsal the day of the ball (dressing up optional)!
